1. They Get 7-9 Hours Sleep
Make sure that you go to bed at a time which allows you to get a good 7-9 hours sleep a night. This is considered the recommended amount for our brains and bodies to function properly.
2. They Don't Play With Their Phone Before Bed
As tempting as it is to check your phone before bed, it can lead to disturbed sleep. Prolongedsleep deprivation can result in depression and decreased mental well being. It's not just reserved to phones either - try and think about your bed as a place to sleep, avoid watching TV or playing on a games console so your brain doesn't start associating your bed with stimulation rather than relaxation.
3. They Don't Sleep With The Lights On
If you're a person that falls asleep with the TV or light on, then try to break this habit. Research has shown that when we sleep in mild to moderate light, we can wake up feeling depressed. Sleeping with the lights on can also affect our bodies ability to produce melatonin which is a hormone that controls our sleep patterns.
4. They Mediate

5. They Exercise
The National Sleep Foundation has found that people who get at least 150 minutes of exercise a week sleep better and are more alert in the day. After controlling for age, BMI (Body Mass Index), health status, smoking status, and depression, the study showed people who met exercise guidelines found that daytime sleepiness episodes decreased by 65%.
