4 tips for successfully asking your boss for a power lunch


So you're sold on the idea of a lunchtime workout...now it's time to convince your boss using these 4 top tips.


1. Do your research 

Go armed with reasons why having the extra time to workout on your lunch break would be good for you, the rest of the team but more importantly, for them. We’ve done this for you here (you can thank us later). Just hit the envelope share to email it to your boss directly!

2. Pick your moment 

Find a time when your boss will be relaxed and able to give you their full attention. Try to avoid first thing on a Monday or last thing on a Friday or any other time you know they will be busy or pre-occupied.

3. Set up a meeting 

Even if it’s a quick 15 minute catch up, it’s good to set some time in the diary so you’ll both be free of any distractions. You could email the article we’ve given you in point 1 so they know what to expect. Try and find a few colleague who also want the option and suggest it as a company wide policy so it is not seen as just you asking for it - it will also help with recruitment and employee retention!

4. Follow up with an email

Whatever the outcome, follow up with an email thanking your boss for taking the time out to meet you and listen to your idea.
